Carnival Chinese
It´s time once more for the most popular “Fiesta” of the Canary Islands, “Carnival”!
We took advantage of the fact that the carnival celebration fell at the same time as Chinese New Year. As part of our multicultural curriculum we dressed up in traditional Mandarin style. We made our own costumes using old t-shirts, and even made our own Chinese dragon out of recycled boxes and pieces of material. We used our dragon in part of a traditional Chinese dance.
Throughout the week we took part in lots of different activities such as: writing in Chinese, making Chinese decorations and listening and dancing to Chinese music.
