As part of the Common Wealth tradition we feel it important that the pupil´s of Queen’s School take part in some way or form in remembering the soldiers who went to war so many years ago.
As Year four have been studying “World War II”, they had a greater understanding of how important this day is. Therefore they organised a special assembly to explain to the other children why poppies are made to either wear or decorate areas on this special day. They also sang a soldiers marching song “It´s a long way to Tiperary”.
All the pupils in the school were involved, making different designs of poppies to wear and use in the school displays.
At 11 O´clock on the 11th November as always the pupil´s came out into the patio and stood in silence for one minute to respect and remember the soldiers.
