On January 30th the school celebrated ‘Peace day’, a day that is very special to us all at Queens. Celebrating World Peace Day allows our students to learn and understand the importance of harmony, love, friendships and helping others. The children and teachers were encouraged to wear white to show their support and the classes all participated in different activities throughout the day.
In the morning all the pupils attended a special Peace Day show performed by year 6 and 7 which showed off their excellent acrobatic skills. The younger years then went on to create a beautiful Peace day rainbow display and had lots of fun decorating Peace doves and friendship necklaces.
The day was ended on a peaceful high when the parents were invited to enjoy a performance from Year 2 to Year 7 who presented beautiful poems and a wonderful version of the song ‘Three little birds’. The presence of the parents proved to be a great source of encouragement and motivation for the students who received a huge applause.
Well done to all the pupils!
