INTERNATIONAL BOOK DAY!
The world of books is a world of fantasy, information and joy and this why we endeavour that the pupils of Queens realise this in the much too modern world of today. International Book Day is a special day at Queens where the children take part in different fun activities which we hope helps to make them realise that books are an important treasure in life.
The day began with one of the pupils favourite stories “The Gruffulo” acted out by year 3, whilst their teacher Miss Sara read to the whole school in a special assembly. Well done to all the pupils and their teacher who gave a spectacular performance. A great start to a special day.
All the pupils brought in their favourite books to share with their friends throughout the day, there were all types of beautiful books from science books to fairy tale books being passed around throughout the day. Our older pupils enjoyed showing off their excellent reading skills to each other participating in our traditional “Book Buddies” session.
Finally, at the end of the day, all the pupils and teachers joined together for an open-air performance by the one and only Miss Jordana. She delighted the children entering centre stage as the witch from “Room on the Broom”. Thank you Miss Jordana we all thoroughly enjoyed this very special and enchanting story time.
