INTERNATIONAL BOOK DAY
At a very small age the children at Queen´s are showing a love for books. It is with great pride that we encourage their interest in literature; therefore International Book Day is without doubt an important date on our event calendar. To celebrate this day Queen´s School decided the children would enjoy a fun packed day of literacy. Each class teacher chose a literacy theme; there were poems, nursery rhymes and favorite children’s stories, they then took turns to perform in front of each class. The pupils were delighted with the enthusiasm with which the teachers introduced their theme and thoroughly enjoyed the activities that followed. The children were intrigued by the “What the Ladybird Heard”, excited about making their very own “Incy Wincy Spider” and even worked together to make a display for the library about the poem “The Camels Complaint”. The literacy theme was continued throughout the week as the children all brought in their own favorite books and a relative object to talk about in front of the class.
