END OF TERM OUTINGS
Costa Teguise Aquarium
On 18th June our youngest pupils travelled to Costa Teguise to visit the Aquarium, where they had the opportunity to see lots of different species of fish, crustaceans and marine animals. The Aquarium staff explained their special rehabilitation program for turtles injured by fishing nets or other litter found in the sea. During several months they feed and care for the turtles so that eventually they can be returned to the wild. The children´s most exciting part of the visit was when they were able to observe the feeding time for the sharks, sting rays and turtles. It was a very enriching experience for everyone.
Rancho Texas Excursion
Year 1 pupils visited Rancho Texas on the 17th June, a day in which the children passionately enjoyed the experience of getting a close look at such exotic species as the white tiger, chameleons, Komodo dragon and eagles…. although the children´s favorite was the sea lion show. It will be an unforgettable memory for all the children, who discovered a morning full of adventure and discovery.
Oasis Park Excursion
On Friday 19th June Year 2 pupils travelled to Fuerteventura with the primary classes of our associated school Daos, Puerto Del Carmen, to celebrate the last day of the school year 2014 – 2015.
For a lot of the children it was the first time they had travelled on the ferry without their families, so they were very excited. In the park we visited various areas which represented the different habitats; the jungle, African plains and desert. The unforgettable moment was the interaction with the lemurs, where the children were able to get up close and feed them; the bravest amongst us even enjoyed the lemurs sitting on their shoulders!
Now it´s time to have a few days rest and regain energy ready for Queen´s Summer School for the month of July!
