From the 18th until 20th of April our Year 5 pupils travelled to Tenerife Island to enjoy a few fun packed days, to share fabulous moments and experience new adventures together with their friends and teachers.
On the first day of our trip to Tenerife, we travelled to our hostel situated in the beautiful area of Monte de Anaga. After settling in it was time for lunch and a few different sports activities such as archery, zip lining and climbing “It was fabulous afternoon!”.
After a good sleep-in the next morning, our second day started; a visit to Mount Teide. When we arrived in the “Las Cañadas del Teide” area we were able to observe the working mechanism of the cable cars and learn important information about them. After a short walk around the area the guides told us some great stories and interesting points about the highest mountain in Spain. Once the visit ended we went to the observatory… it was in an impressive place! We could observe the sun through the telescope and we can safely say we are now experts in astronomy and that we own one of the best viewpoints to see this in the world!
On our return to the hostel we had a little rest and then had dinner. It was a great surprise to us that we then saw a marvellous show! Filled with stories, songs and dancing.
Finally, we could not have left Tenerife without taking advantage of the last day of our trip and we visited “Loro Park” in Puerto de la Cruz, where we could see lots of impressive animal species such as: penguins, seals, gorillas, orcas, dolphins, sharks etc. and enjoying all the different shows offered in the park. After a very tasty lunch and a chance to buy souvenirs our trip was coming to an end. Finally, we travelled to the airport and after 3 action-filled happy days we returned home.
